fuck fords man i helped a friend change his throw out bearing today and the bolt on top of the T56 are a pain in the ass to get too.

They put the T56 in Gm and Dodge cars too

I'm fully aware of this I have one in my vette but fuck ford because I havnt had to pull mine from the vette

btw first time pulling a T56 from any car well first time pulling any trans lol

t56 is a 6 speed right?
How did pulling the tranny go? Did you have the car on a lift?

yeah its a 6spd and all of the lifts were taken so jacks and stands for us it was. it went decent except the two bolts on top of the trans those held us up for about an hour just trying to get to them. oh and all of the trans jacks were taken also so we literally had a guy bench it to get it all the way out and on the ground.

No one in the history of ever puts the top bolt back on an f-body 4l60E housing. It makes the t56 look like cake. On an fbody you need 4ft of extensions with 3 u joints. U joints help a lot on the 56 too.

Im so good at doing t56 swaps now I can pull one by myself in 30 minutes and install one in 45 minutes on jackstands. I bench the tail shaft end of the trans and use my feet to lift the input shaft end and push it in. Its one of the easiest trans swaps. Its a good one to start with. Unfortunately for you the corvette is not so straight forward what with the transaxle deal.

It's a rare swap, mostly because it's so expensive, lol.

Of the few people that have the swap though, most of them are making 600+ out of at most a 2.4L 4 banger :thumbsup:



What I'm expecting, a little bit less but essentially the same
