going through a body shop the paint is always expensive. and im sure he wants a top notch paint job not slap it on in a dusty garage. and like i said dont forget the labor and theres always going to be the small things they will have to straighten out and replace. all that stuff adds up. about 9 years ago it cost about 3 grand to get some minor fiberglass damage fixed and repainted on the drivers door and rear quarter of my 99 camaro. i asked them how much to paint the entire thing and it was gonna be another 2k for prep, labor, and paint.

yeah fuck that lol. its easy as hell to do yourself. never attempted figerglass though that shit seems brutal. you should have just bought a new door for cheaper and painted that lol

should not be 14k though lol. hell i did my quarter and door for like 500$ total lol

The rear quarter panel on these cars is part of the unibody. Its not cheap to fix lol, its alot of labor. Usually when you have major rear quarter panel damage they total the car. But yeah, $14000 is still steep.

same with my f body, i had to have the junk yard cut the whole quarter off a car lol. came with parts of the door parts of the trunk ect lol. had to weld it back on but 14k seems about double what it should be imo

They're adding more power and fixing the blatant problems that keep people from viewing it as a real competitor in the market. I don't know how that is going to make it suck.

I was solely referring to the cosmetic aspect of the car, I think that it wont look good because theyre trying to make it more european, who knows. Power wise I like it because im expecting a decent power increase, we shall see.

just getting a basic paint job on half a car is a few thousand dollars at the least. plus whatever the oem parts cost (they better be sticking oem not repros on it) and labor at probably 70-80 an hour.

Yeah everything is oem from ford, paint is of the highest quality, not some home depot shit lol. The body shop its at has long ties with my family, very reputable. Im more than confident that itll look as good as it was the first day I bought it.

when someone elses insurance company was having to pay for it im not going to do it myself. the shop i take my stuff to has done a couple of my moms vehicles and they always do an awesome job. when she traded her jeep liberty in the dealership knew it had been wrecked and had the complete front rebuilt but they said it was pretty much impossible to tell unless you knew about it.
