sooooooo many times I have fucking hondas and v6's pull up next to me and rev the shit out of their bean cannon to the point where I just want to show them what power a real v8 engine makes power wise. I don't go trying to shit on one unless they instigate it. Just like in the mustang crowd, you'll find those douche bags who treat every stop light like its the quarter mile strip, and any grocery getter wants to race them

I remember one day an SUV full of Asains pulled up next to me and was revving its engine like crazy at me. It sounded like a 4cyl SUV and then they took off from the light. I was in the turn lane but I couldnt help but laugh.
There are dumb asses in every make of car. Mustangs, like hondas, are lower cost so more people have them.

174k miles on my v6, 131k on mom's 4.6, 152k on mom's old v6... All have running engines. Also, if you want to make it a universal Ford argument my 99 contour just passed 209k with its original duratec v6 and I had a 77 long bed that reached a mil on the original 302...

cheaper on price and insurance than a v8. also probably just wanted a mustang didnt care about a v8. my 99 camaro had the 3800 v6 in it and i really didnt care i just liked the car itself. i would get a ls1 if i ever get back around to it being something feasible for me to have.

some year models only had like 40hp difference between the v6 and v8 so it didn't really matter unless you were planning on modding.

Both list valid reasons. Also;

Gas Mileage
I have a personal liking for the 35th anniversary 3.8's exhaust note.
The v6 model has nice mid range throttle response when you put a BBS throttle body and CAI on it. I like to come out of the apexes of these mountain curves on the throttle.
