lol, those couplers ARE hideous... but otherwise it's looking spectacular bro.

Yeah, you just have to pretend they are crinkle black pipes, and black couplers.

I'm buying a Eastman Hot Coat powdercoating gun, and I intend to start doing some DIY powdercoat stuff now too.

So once I have that baby, the pipes are good as black.

That should be sharp. Just practice a bit on some scrap pipe or something first...

Don't you still have to stick the part in an oven for a bit? Not sure how the gun works.

I hope we get some videos when you get this thing running.

Haha of course you'll get the start up.

How shitty would that be? Do all this work, then disappear when it looks done. Haha.

Also, yeah in regards to the powder coat. Its actually pretty hard to mess up. It's all done through electrostatics. Basically you ground the object to be coated, spray your powder, which automatically magnetizes itself to the piece you are coating. You can't apply too much powder, and yes, then you stick it in the oven for around a half an hour, and you're good.

It's actually really pretty simple. But they finally have great DIY affordable setups.

Like the eastman hot coat system.

Here's a little video, so those who don't know exactly what powder coat entails.

Also, I am pulling the trigger on my transmission today. So that's a go.

After that, it's only like 1000 more dollars worth of stuff, and I'm pretty damn close to running again. Haha.

The problem is you need a oven that is bigger than whatever you want to coat and you cant (shouldnt) just use the oven in your kitchen.
Quality powder coats (much like paint) is all about the prep work too.

I want to build a Z so bad... Maybe one day when I get the time/space/money

Radiator arrived today.

I'll throw it in the car once I have some time.

But.......This stupid thing has been taking up most of my time....1969 Ford F100 Ranger that I am building for a customer. (motor is a Ford 360)

Took me close to 3 hours to just get the windshield gasket in place. Stupid chrome trim pieces.....

Excuse the poor lighting..

Radiator install

Progress..

Hopefully the transmission and a few more parts arrive this week. I'll make some intercooler brackets next time I go out to the gayrodge.
