I've been through texas riding trials bikes. The extent of my experience was realizibg how big the state is and how dry the heat is. 110° there feels like 85° here.

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of that fact. I don't have much sense of temperature, so dry heat poses a serious dehydration/heat exhaustion risk for me. I know there's all kinds of shops down there for just about any mod/tuning I could possibly want, so that's a plus. The way I figure it, if the shops exist the events exist.

Oh they do. DFW's car scene is only second to Houston's. We call an LS1 fbody with headers, exhaust, air lid, and a tune texas stock. Everything in texas is modded. You shouldn't show up to a street race unless your car traps 140+ in the 1/4.
