when you have friends as dumb as mine they do stupid things because they can

Why would you turbo a zr1?
C4 zr1 or something?
Built turbo LSxs are amazing but why would you spend the 100k on zr1 if you are going to throw the engine away basically?
Why not start out with a z06 or even a grandsport

When you have enough money that it doesn't matter... The factory blower will only make about 750whp. Throw the blower out and the factory engine can hold closer to 4 digits. I wouldn't do it but I don't have that kind of money. I'd wide body a base ls2 c6 and build the engine/trans. Much cheaper but then again it isn't a zr1 and it won't have the interior or the fancy brakes or the fancy suspension and body parts.

I just want a c6 z06. It much more of a purists car than the zr1 anyway. A lot of people in the know think it will be the last large displacement N/A vette produced. Signs point to the z equivalent in a c7 being smaller displacement and FI.

Honestly the la2 or ls3 block is a much better starting point for a big power turbo build. An ls7 block is fucking expensive and it was designed to be N/A. The other two have a lot more material between the bores and thicker sleeves. Stock stroke is more than enough displacement for 1000-1200hp.

To each his own. E-85 will make it live a lot longer.
