I’ve been putting off blowing the front end apart because, well, it’s been driving well and its fun and motivating to drive and not so motivating in pieces in the driveway… But, this was inevitable. I removed the coil springs so I could cycle the suspension and check a few key things:
- Bump stops needed a proper landing pad and some tweaking
- Wanted to see if shocks are limiting droop
- Check if driveshaft binds at full droop
- Mount tires and cycle suspension and turn full lock to lock to see what trimming needs to be done
First I drooped it all the way out, which was pretty cool to watch the links and joints just let the suspension keep going and going and going…

From the center of the hub to the fender well is 41”

And the limiting factor of the droop is… Shocks! Looks like limit straps are probably in order to keep from ripping the shocks apart. The driveshaft also binds… So that’s the pieces of bad news. The good news is the shocks didn’t limit with the radius arm set up so I’ve gained travel. Though somehow that seems like less of a victory all the time…
