the veryon 0-60 is 2.8 seconds

thatas a very diff vette than one with 400 hp we were talking about. u have to understand its different strokes for different folks. Some ppl get off by being implanted into there seat driving in a straight line. some ppl like turning accelerating and braking. then there are the lucky few who get to experience all that in F1 cars or Lmp/prototype cars on a race track like Le Mans or the Nürburgring.

damn 15k for a vette is pretty cheap. i've been in 1k hp cars, man they have you set back hard on the track. the fastest car i've ever been in was my cuzzins 8 sec integra

yah, and theres models of lingenfelters that are faster then the veyron, same with hennesys vipers

rode in a friends c6 vette with some mods to it ( new exhaust, intake, chipped, ect)
didnt go above 150 in it, but she did have alot left in her

nah its not cheap
just has over 150k miles and is modded with a kenne belle
it sits in the garage and i believe there are a few problems with it XD so hence itll take around 5 grand to fix XP

they sit flush with the grond and force the weight transfer u would get to the real wheels from accelerating onto the front wheels for better traction.

as for a vette that does 0-60 in 1.7 sec, i dont doubt it but thats probably on a sticky ass launch pad on a drag strip. surely not on a reg patch of tarmac. and thats just cuz its been supercharged to hell, imagine if the modded they veyron even more or a mclaren or any other supercar for that matter u would get the same results.
