prolly should of just completely rewired the blinkers and not just repaired craziness.

not like its going to be on the road anytime soon!

:P Unfortunately, If I want to use the OEM switches, I have to use the existing setup. I don't want to rewire all of those components into aftermarket toggles/switches - that would be twice the work, and look non factory. They work now, the hard part was just getting the diagnosis right. Now that I know the circuit intimately, subsequent troubleshooting (if any) should come easy.

The C5 system is similar. The turn signal and brake light power runs in part through the hazard switch. That circuit is a bitch too. I feel your pain.

Yeah, coupled with forty four year old combination switches that cost about 600 bucks for a set...no thanks.

If I wasn't constantly second guessing, and retesting, the condition of the switches, I was chasing power all around the interior, only to realize - that after many many tests - I forgot to turn on the ignition switch, or something mind numbingly stupid that would make me ragequit. haha

It also didn't help that my timeline, as of late, hasn't allowed me to spend continual time in the car. I had to refresh my memory almost every time I went to go troubleshoot, due to infrequency working on the car.

Now I'm literally assembling. No more troubleshooting. About damn time.

Got the heater controls labeled. Has a vintage racecar look. I like it.

Cheap, easy, and reversible; Nothing wrong with that.

Other than that, I'm just rewrapping the dash harness, and taking my time routing and organizing the wiring.

Nothing else picture worthy.....yet.

Day started off rougher than expected. Decided to thumb wrestle a razor blade. Spoiler alert: Razor won. :D whoops.

Other than being a masochist....

I'm getting close. All the gauges work, and are accounted for.

Now it's time to hunker down, and wait out the storm.

Gotta love lake effect.

Nice gauges! Damn that snow BS. Our weather is crazy in it's own right but nothing like that. We had a bad series of thunderstorms and flash flooding Sunday night, I wore shorts and a t-shirt mon-tues-wed as it was almost 70°F with lows in the 50's, and the low this coming Sunday is 17°F. My centipede is still green so I'm going to have to cut my damn grass in january. It should have browned up in the beginning of november.

I can't wait to see your finished interior!

Me too. Thanks.

And yeah, moments after posting this update I got a call from a friend who drove off the road returning home from work. I just returned from a literal gale. Zero visibility. Holy fuck. But, I successfully extracted his Hyundai Sonata from the field. Nothing makes me feel more badass than pulling a car from a ditch, in a severe snowstorm, with snow and ice freezing to my beard, wind stinging my face, all while seeing nothing, and hearing nothing but the howl of the wind.

G'damn Lt. Bad Hass reporting for duty.

It's good to be owed.
