Based on your story....The chances that the pressure plate did the damage is much more likely.

A failed throw out bearing (if it was reused, for example) destroying the pressure plate, subsequently shearing it off the flywheel could do some serious damage to the case.

A misshift?.......I'd be shocked.


It takes a hell of a lot of force to do the damage shown in those pictures. No way it originated in the gearbox. Definitely in the bellhousing.

they told my dad I probably could have mishifted into the wrong gear or like reverse. How the fuck am I gonna go into reverse when I was trying to go into 4th.
They said they need to further inspect it to be 100% sure.

Fucking mechanic is out right now doing something. Im sure he's trying to find some broken parts so he can sabotage something and blame that shit on me.
Gotta wait like an hour to hear this bullshit story.

Reverse should be impossible if it has a reverse lockout solenoid like everything else. If you went 4th to 1st it would have destroyed the engine altogether.

You still need to make sure they're putting a new transmission in not a pullout. They're going to try and half ass it, you need to stop them.

It doesn't matter, the work they did caused his transmission to be destroyed. They know nothing about the history of a used transmission and his current one was functioning fine until they fucked it up.
