If your car even runs on 87 that is funny as hell. Dude you didn't prove me wrong once. How am I talking out of my ass simply stating facts? you paid 3800 for that short block? Lol'd your setup may be good for what you want... key words "what you want" but it sure as fuck isnt ideal for power like you claim.

What in my wording makes you think that it would run on 87? I was stating that E-85 is the same price as 87... It will be able to run on 93 for making road trips. Like I said, STREET CAR.

You aren't backing up anything you say with facts. You are claiming your word of mouth is facts. You aren't even posting numbers with your words...

It was actually $3500 after shipping, I just looked at the invoice. That is less than most people pay for standard Forged piston/rod/stock crank motors at other shops.

Here is the breakdown:

short block assembly and blueprint race motor
-blueprinted and matched parts
-machine work and assembly ( size main caps and connecting rod
bearings for correct bearing clearance)
-check alignment of main jornals
-test run rotating assembly check all clearances.
-install rotating assembly 250.00
Align Hone Mains 175.00
8 Bore Cylinder 144.00
8 Hone Cylinder w/stress plate 176.00
Square deck block (V6/V8) 175.00
clean block and deburr 125.00

GM 12572808 GM Performance Parts Bare 6.0L (LQ9) Cast Iron Cylinder Block 400.00

Freight was $175

So don't even try to act like I over payed. Especially when you say SB2>. Last I checked you couldn't get 1 head for a SB2 for 3K in a ready to run condition.

It's ideal for my power GOAL and budget. It's perfect actually. If I had $10k fall in my lap that I had to spend on the engine I would have done something different. It didn't.

Your car isnt much lighter dude lol. It is possible for him to run a 7 second but I don't know what he claimed he had in the motor so I won't say a word. I have built mopars that run pretty damn quick naturally asperated. You can make plenty of power with any motor with the right setup really. To each their own I guess.

Are you dumb? I felt it was pretty clear that his engine had ~600hp, He claimed it had a blower and made 1200whp. It didn't. It had 600hp and he never ran it at the track. How would it be possible for him to run a 7 second 1/4 mile with an N/A big block in a street car that weighs right at 5,000lbs.

How on earth is my car not much lighter? It is going to be a few hundred pounds heavier than an Outlaw drag radial car is required to be. You must think everything is a stripped down foxbody mustang or a Rail... Do you think C6 Z06 corvettes are heavy? They are ~3200lbs, which is about 200lbs lighter than mine was N/A. Keep on trolling. I'm getting a good laugh at this.

Why does it matter where it comes from? Correct numbers are Correct.

Not to mention I will be able to afford to drive it all over the country. It should get around 20mpg on the highway with the tight converter and 93 octane. On E-85 I would expect no more than 15-16mpg but around here it is about the same price a 87 octane gas

I didn't talk about mpg with 87. I talked about mpg with 93 and E-85. Then I explained that the mileage lost with E-85 isn't that bad because it is as cheap as 87 oct gas. You have the reading comprehension of a second grader.

I'm breaking down a rebuttal to each portion of your post. I'm being thorough. I'm explaining my train of thought. It's not really rambling. Most of all because I can. There, 6 sentences, are you happy?

Oh wait, you wanted 1 or 2.

You're an idiot.

Mark carlisle holds the corvette irs record. 7.20's@210. If he teaches me something in person or on a forum what's the difference? Tech forums are great. The knowledge contained in the 15 million posts on ls1tech cannot be superseded by what some guy used to building gen 1 sbc's can teach you in person.
I do work with my hands. As I said before I do everything but the machine work. If I had 250k worth of machining equipment I would learn to do that.

Do this for me. Go back through this thread and find where I said something that's wrong. Pick it out, and prove it. Until then stfu and crawl back in your hole. Goodbye, I know everything I said is fact. Call bullshit all you want. Prove it.

lol? where did you prove me wrong? where the fuck did your argument come from? do you need to find a URL for that too? What's the difference between reading shit on the comp and learning the real way? You'll never know the difference so it doesn't really matter. All you do is point your finger and call bullshit and then overwhelm the thread with so much text and bullshit that you go and read off the LS forum before you come back in here to reply to try and make yourself look smart. You are clearly a bullshit artist

I like how this thread went from "mustangs cant handle, they only go fast in straight lines"
to "mustangs arent fast in straight lines"
to "I know more about engines than you do"

You guys are both kinda dumb. Building a 600+ HP motor takes nothing more than some money. There are several ways to do it. There are 1000 HP Mustangs out there just like there are 1000 HP Toyotas.

The whole point of this thread was discussing cars people buy.
