Ford Cougar 3Dr Coupe 2.5i 24v X Pack (00)

Performance Stats
Fuel Delivery Injection
BHP 167.7
Torque (lbs feet) 162.3
RPM to which the Torque refers 4250
Maximum Speed 140
Acceleration (0-60) 8.3

Max speed listed as 140, and as im sure you are aware a lot of listed max speeds are not correct. I had 147 out of it legitimatley despite what you say.

According to kgkleader (was talking to him on steam) You are thinking of the american cougars? Mine is an english FORD Cougar. Despite that both the mercury and the ford cougar have the same 2.5L Duratec engine.

Edit : 2.0 L Zetec 4-cylinder engine with 130 hp Is the only other engine the cougars come with. And according to wikipedia the Mercury cougar has the same engines as the english ford cougar.

They use the same exact gearing ratios in the transmission as my car did. not a 147MPH trans. It would have shit its guts out @ 135 MAX MAX MAX trust me.

Don't try to bring me no bullshit about horsepower, aerodynamics etc. it all dosnt matter. The transmission can only spin so fast before it fails. regardless of how much horsepower you have...

Sigh..

The Cougar runs the same gear-box as the ST200 Mondeo and the ST-220 (if i'm not wrong) and both cars have a recorded maximum in the owners manual of 145 mph (ST200) and 150mph (St220) the Cougar V6 Manual is recorded as 141mph.. So yeah the 148 on my speedometer wasn't accurate but the car will do 140.

ok .... test drove a 1968 ford mustang with a 396 big block or something at a used car dealer ship

they wanted 19,000 for it but well its speedo said 140 or something thats where it stopped

and then i shifted it to 5th where it went hella faster so i dont know ... i wish i had 19,000 dollars

i offered 8,000 down and high payments like 300 to 350 so i could get it but they said something about it being a classic that they would need all up front ( best one to do they said )
or 10,000 down with less than 1 year of payments
