It's not that things are bad with BMW

Every car has shit that breaks

its just with BMW or any euro car pretty much, when shit breaks, it can get expensive as fuck real quick

and for a 17 year old, thats not practical

This is the only thing I will be having to pay for to be honest though. If shit breaks I will have a extra 5000$ in the bank.

look if your heart is set on bmw... thing is if you're looking for reliable power in bmw and can't afford to buy brand new.. you dont want a high mileage one thats out of warranty and only a few years old
get a well maintained e36/46 M3 with low mileage with the 3.0 i6, pocket the rest in your bank account and hold some for just incase. if you leave it alone and respect the car you will have all the power u need right now, trust

something like this.

This is where you're not making a rational, intelligent decision.

At 17, you shouldn't put yourself in a situation where you're sinking money into a car. You shouldn't be blowing your savings on repairs.

It sounds like you're able to make pretty good money throughout the year, which is great, but make the adult decision now to save it for the future. It will be so much more beneficial to you than to waste your time impressing your high school boy friends and girls who quite frankly, don't care as much as you might think.

You keep changing your vision of what you want, from dodge to bmw, and you don't seem to know anything about cars.

Buying a car that gets poor gas mileage, that's expensive to insure, while being paired with potential, inevitable repair/maintenance costs, is going to drain your net worth for no real purpose. Most economy cars can still pass cars without a problem.
