It has been. I couldn't even tell you all the stuff that was done to it. The former owner unfortunately passed away and I bought it from him/the estate. He loved that truck and had i can't even tell you how many upgrades done to various parts. Everything from the egr delete, pro comp aftermarket shocks, touch screen head unit, backup cam, engine programmer, exhaust.....etc.

15 quarts of oil though, got dayum!

Buy rotella 10w40, its like 65$ canadian for 18L jug at walmart, Im sure in murrica it's even cheaper.
Also every other fill up, I'd recommend you dump a quart of ATF in the tank(before adding fuel). The ATF acts as a cleaner for the injectors and lubricates the injector O-rings.
Save you some big $ down the road.

Yeah don't use ATF. I know people have been doing it for years but science says otherwise. It doesn't burn completely and the residue is bad shit. The best lubricity additive is a little bit of bio diesel. B5 is slicker than ULSD with a gallon of expensive additive in it. We don't have bio down here so i ran Diesel Kleen. Not the best but accessible and a good value. I'd mix 10oz of it and 16oz of TCW-3 rated ashless 2 stroke oil for lubricity and cleaning all in one.

2 stroke oil is your best bang for your buck. ATF is not ashless. It will cause residue to build up on everything it can stick to. There is plenty of info out there on it.

I'm proud of you

As he said, ATF is a myth. It will be worse on emissions intact trucks but it will still hurt a emissions free truck as well. Unless we are talking about 6.2, 7.3idi's, or 12v's atf is a no go. The only reasons it's usable on the motors listed is because they have higher tolerances and actually do a better complete burn than the new motors. (inb4 everyone says 12v smokes like train) Still, B5 and 2 stroke oil are much much better options. I've used 2 stroke oil in every diesel i've ever owned. By far the best bang for your buck out there.

I'm a research-o-holic on stuff like that. I don't like taking anyone's word at face value so i learn the how and why for myself. That has served me well thus far. My 06 common rail ran great on the 2 stroke/diesel kleen mixture. I routinely saw 20-21mpg hwy out of a 3/4 ton mega cab G56 w/4.10 gears. Real world, hand calculated, not putting any extra emphasis on driving for economy. The overhead display stayed around 25-27mpg. Not too shabby.

That's pretty solid for a stock truck.

I was averaging 15-17 (mix driving, more city than hwy) on factory setup.

After deletes and the upgrades i've done with a solid tune on the truck i'm getting around 20.5 on the same mix driving style. Not bad for a truck on 37's, long ass gears, and some heavy as fuck brodozer wheels lol

I'm good with diesels. Jimmy has been around them/in them far longer. I'm the domestic V8/race car guy.
