or you could not pin a highly stocked part from chevys most generic and true motors to a BMW's well.... the shit they come up with lol
keep it in the class at least. ill bet if you looked up a waterpump for a Cadillac XTS or something, things might look a little different. <--- /e i was wrong on this
and you went to advance to compare those foreign and domestic prices... shame on you, those types of parts stores have laughable prices on things i've looked up in the past
I picked a mid priced 5 series and a silverado because they are fairly evenly priced and common. The truck uses basically the same pump as it's sister engines. Interchangeability is the key to cheap parts. A silverado pump bolts on my ls1 trans am and vice versa. I used advance and the same bran/condition part to keep it an apples to apples comparison. You may find that bmw pump for $300 with "patience" but i'll go pay $150 retail for the silverado pump 5 minutes from now at any of the 4 parts stores within 2 miles of my house. I didn't even use rockauto or GMPARTSDIRECT.
do you buy your parts on amazon or something? A dealership certainly won't be cheaper than Advance... lol. I picked the water pump because it is a common wear part that will be replaced on every vehicle if you drive it long enough. The price difference was double what i was expecting btw.
