Canada invented the first jet engine, which was basically amazing and was still a work in progress BUT it worked, flew. etc. Beat the US, russia, all others to the punch.
And in the 50s the prime minister closed all the doors down, "burned" all the files and said never speak of this again basically.
Shortly after the US is producing the exact same engine, same lay out, etc. Which completly changed the playing field and they came out on top during the war.
Theyve since been on top, and able to keep up with all other countrys, but if we didnt give those files over, canada would be in the position the states are in.
So dont be so quick to judge, do your homework.
didnt the jet engine come from germany?? after the war we had all those scientist working for us now. hence nasa and the space program
