Goals are off road camping, decent ground clearance for snowfall and trails. Okay millage. Can't expect great with AWD.

This does not meet any of those..

By off road I mean more like logging roads and trails. Not going mudding in the thing.

CX5; my old man owns one and I've loved driving it in winters. Doesn't struggle with anything and it's great to handle. I'm no car guru but I am a big fan of Mazda and a brand new 2018 is just under 30k.

Sorry; just saw AWD. Will bump you a little over 30k but you could find last years models for a bit less.
