The cost is in the full paint correction and decon required before applying the coating. Figure $2500 for the average car. More if it needs a 2 stage correction. You are sealing in whatever imperfections you leave behind.

Our guy local who has done a few of the vehicles from our car group charges about the same. I think his starts at $1700 for full paint correction and 1 coat of ceramic then offers 2, 4, 6 and his top tier is 8 coatings for like $3500. These are base prices ofcourse its vehicle dependant a large suv is going to be more than a civic of course.
The concept is great and the guys with it typically love it. They can literally pressure wash their cars with no drying and be show ready looking like they waxed it.
With that being said I've seen alot of dealers who don't offer multi coat services and I would steer away from it or specifically ask for multiple coatings. The coating is very strong yet very brittle. You can take a key down it and not scratch. However if you have a thin coating I've seen first hand where friends have hit beetles and such and it causes micro fractures that will leave the coating with a slight hazy look to it. Personally I've wanted to do it to my truck but I wouldn't go with less than a 3-4 coat.

Just like 2 meets ago we had some new kid try showing off in his truck and did a burn out and ended up peppering this kids FRS with rocks. He has a 6 coat layer of ceramic coating and it didn't leave a single scratch or mark.

Edit:
This is a members car like 6 months after getting the coating. This was after a track day where he left with rubber on his rear body panels, bugs from the hour drive to the track and hour back, and just normal dirt/road grime. We stopped at a gas station to top off and he spent like 2$ in quarters to rinse it off and drove around the block while we waited to dry it. Could see your reflection clear as day.

It's especially good in harsh climates. Somewhat harder to apply in high humidity but still great. All those shiny supercars in South Florida have ceramic coatings on them.

yes, cermaic coatings block 95% of the UV rays which damage paint. Also good for protecting against road salt for people who live around snowy areas.
