I wouldn't pay that much for a gas truck with that kind of mileage

Anyone have any input on buying a truck that has been extremely well taken care of, also with great cosmetic condition?

Should I be afraid of the 200,000 miles with that new of a truck? Its all highway miles.

I mean even the underside of the truck looks like they may have not even driven it in the rain.

Does anyone know of those motors/tran going out like clockwork around there? OR anything? It's got the automatic in it

edit: I am considering purchasing it

Is it an 07 classic or 07.5? That is a big difference. Given the price I'm going to assume it's an 07.5. That means it has a 6.0L LQ4 and 4L80E 4 speed auto. If it is well taken care of it will need a trans rebuild sometime between 225k and 300k. The engine should go 275k-350k before it needs a rebuild. Rear end should be fine if you service it now. Front suspension and steering parts will show wear by 250k. If it's all highway miles it's not the end of the world. He needs to come off the price some but don't expect him to move much. Maintenance costs on this truck over the next 100k miles will be less than the equivalent truck with a duramax.

Why?
Could drop a junkyard 5.3 in there in a weekend, worse case scenario.

If the truck's clean enough, and the price is right.
Do it.

12 seems like.... Alot.. lol

I was see if he can do like 8-9.

It's an f250 gasser we know that, but the bed, cab, and wether it's Super Duty or not can change if it's worth 8 or 12+

Yeah it's an 07.5, it is all highway miles, he says he's been religious about upkeep but never know for sure.

Truck is really clean

Yup. Not like the engine bay is the same, or like it wouldn't bolt right up.

I bought an 06 2500 6.0l gas with 140,000 and a $4,000 plow setup for $12,000 here 2 years ago. The " bulletproof" LS motor failed around 180,000. I have a new motor in it now (Cost me $3200) and several electrical issues with it. I like the power and towing, but it's just not something I would buy again. The gas mileage is horrible, but it pulls anything I have ever hooked it up to. If you aren't going to be working the truck I would get a 1500, way better mileage out of the 5.3 and it will pull a camper pretty easily unless you have some 40ft+ job.
