Nice, which machines do you have?

PCM 7424XP and a Flex XC 3401 VRG. I use lake country pads, and a combination of pinnacle, optimum, and car-pro products.

Nice, I was considering the flex for its cutting power but I'm not sure how well I'd be able to get it to finish out. What do you use for 1 step? I was thinking about trying menzerna's with LC pads.

CarPro fixer and either an orange or white LC pad depending on the severity of defects. I can get a good finish with the flex with practice but I usually use my PC for my final step. My corvette has CarPro reload on it right now and my truck has optimum gloss coat. I used optimum spray hyperpolish as a 1 step and honestly like it a lot. I still prefer the old school methods to the 1 step combo products but they really save a lot of time.

Gotcha, thanks. I'll look into the hyperpolish, so far the only optimum product I've used is ONR. I have been wanting to try out more carpro products since I've had a pretty good experience using perl, I just need to use more of my current supply of sealants first. I have a basically brand new bottle of wolfgang deep gloss that I bought to try out but I can't bring myself to strip the sealant and 2 coats of collinite that I have on now.

I understand that lol. Since I only do my own cars it takes me a long time to use a bottle of anything.

I've done a few of my friends and family, but just a basic wash-clay-spray for the exterior. I usually use hybrid v07 spray sealant for that because it leaves the best results out of every spray product I've used, and it only takes 2 ounces to get my desired look.

Washing isn't detailing, even if it's waterless.

Machines came today. I used the autogeek giftcard deal and got the $500 for $380.

Picked up the Griot's 15 Deluxe bundle and the Griot's 3" HD. Grabbed a couple extra of each pad ofc, pretty stoked to start checking out test spots with the different combinations.
