Cross training on a trials bike will make you better at everything on 2 wheels. I picked up considerable speed in the woods from riding trials bikes for 4 years. The regional series I competed in usually had 50-100 competitors per event and it was the same people every time. My uncle was a minder for a US National pro rider at the time so I was very lucky to be able to spend time around people that were insanely good at trials. They were sponsored by Montessa from 03-08 I think then they switched to Gas Gas.

Yea man I definitely developed a bunch of new techniques I was too nervous to try on the big bike. Lots of real good trials zones and clubs where I live too. You should get one again! Good fun and not too crazy expensive to ride.

The only thing that deters me besides time is I have to drive 3+ hours to get to hilly enough terrain to make a decent event. I used to have a practice section with a bunch of pallet stacks, huge logs, and an 82 Toyota corolla.

Since I swapped that turbo in and got custom tuning I haven't even been a little bit concerned with egts. Before just the hot h and s tune man she smoked and ran hot. Haha 790 is ridiculous for a daily, that thing must rip for a big Diesel, I know mine moves pretty quick. I got 35s right now, but my set is done. Going back to 37s.

Yea I usually just say my truck is 550hp, safe bet haven't actually dynod . It has some beefy front end parts. Carli ball joints, torsion bar, 2.5 Pintop kit, Spicer joints and front axle truss. Mag hytec tranny, diff covers etc...

It's actually kind of weird to drive to be honest. No idea why she likes that over the other two I have...

1-2 is 2800RPM regardless due to the bands being set for pulling Then third hits with tighter bands and lockup at anything over half throttle breaks the tires lose. I used to drag race this truck before she started driving it. It has a manual lockup so I used to lock to lock 2,3, and 4th in the 1/4. My 60 foot is slower than a lawnmower but once you lock up in second it gets down pretty good.

Too small for my frame, terrible 4cs forks. Piston was beyond angry at 130 hours, cam chain tensioner went, two shifters, brake lever, handlebar mounts bent, starter failed at the top of a mountain with no kicker, woodruff key went 5 minutes into a race. That's just the stuff I can think about. Ktm went too crazy trying to shave weight on the new bikes.

Looking at maybe getting a beta 300rr 2t next year for racing.

I've seen nothing but horror stories about the 4cs forks.

Go find a mint aluminum frame yz250, do a 295cc EG big bore with the wide powerband porting option, toss a steahly 8oz flywheel weight on it, and bolt on an FMF Fatty. Build the rest of the bike like you would any woods bike and you have a lightweight weapon with power nearly equal to and as smooth as a 450. You also have the famous SSS forks you can go ham on. They are the easiest forks to have someone set up on a modern bike.

Man the forks are night and day difference on the yamaha. I literally have done nothing to my kyb on my yammer at 95 hours and they work everywhere. The 4cs I put $1k into them and the only time I was somewhat satisfied was at high speed. The new aer forks are supposed to be better, but I'm not willing to roll the dice on a new ktm again for awhile. Next bike will definitely be a yammer 250 or maybe the beta.

Going to keep the 450 for winter riding, moto and certain races.

I tried a base model 300rr couple years back

liked the lower seat height they have for singletrack.
