...Except when the 300zx tt came out, it WAS fast. Very fast for the time actually. It was pretty cutting edge car.

I guess this thread confuses me.

It should because people's viewpoints are incredibly skewed and unrealistic.

Yep starting with yours. Fast is relative.

If you were to chart the acceleration of every 2017 vehicle model of each body type anything above the median would be "fast" relative to the rest of it's class. So while it's relative, it's easily quantifiable.

Something can be fast for it's era (grand national) and slow by current standards (grand national). Some cars were never fast to start with (brz.)

Fast is completely relative to one's personal needs.

If something is significantly slower than A 6 second car (0-60, brz), does that make the brz fast?

Keep in mind, arguing about this is meaningless as a cars quickness isn't nearly the only determination of positiveness.

Fast 20 years ago isn't fast now.

Duh. As explained above.

From the factory, in 1990....it was fast. That's how I saw the original post. From the era in which it left the factory.

Technically, it is still a fast car..... from the 90's; But merely a slower car when compared to newer technology.

Bad title is bad.

Do we compare sprinters to quadruple amputees to determine if they are fast enough for the olympics? Fast is not relative to one's personal needs. Speed is relative to one's personal needs. Fast is a comparison of the speed of similar objects.

So because I didn't specify that I'm talking about right now, the topic is bad?
Why not assume I'm talking about RIGHT NOW like a normal person.

I drive a z32 and people think my car is fast and it's not.

When someone doesn't understand writing, do you usually blame the reader? or the author?

Clearly, due to the confusion, you didn't specify enough. I don't assume anything, until stated. This is the internet.

I said your title was bad, not the topic. Don't get so bent out of shape.

For its age, it's fast. That's my point.

It's all relative, mate.

No right or wrong answer here.
