Every spring I claybar the whole car, then wax it every 4 months during the summer. Fuck waxing in the winter here it sucks lol. I got my set from I think autogeek dot com or something. They have some good stuff there

I see.

Car is relatively new. I've only done claybar/wax, never messed with any sealants or Polish. Depending on the sealants, it's something you want to do every few years right?

Real world for an average climate with the car stored outdoors:

Wax- 4-6 weeks
Sealant- 8-26 weeks
Coatings- 1-5 years

Yeah there are about 500 good ones out there. Before you attempt to Polish anything you need to understand the idea of paint correction and how to accomplish defect removal without removing anymore clear coat than you have to. Then you can try to figure out whether you need a heavy or light compound, a heavy or light polish, or a 1 stage. As far as product lines go chemical guys is probably the best entry level detailer's quality line up. They have plenty of tutorial videos themselves.

Yeah I read about polish eating at the clear coat. I'll just skip it for now, car is a 2015.

Thanks buddy

Clay bar it correctly and wax it until you learn a bit more and buy the right tools (DA polisher)

I wouldn't seal it until you are comfortable with the process. Sealants aren't as foolproof as wax.
