fun, reliable car for 10k or less?
Finish college in a bit over a year, and I want to start thinking about which car to get.
Want: fun to drive, reliable or not huge maintenance costs, 4seater don't care if 2 or 4 door, must have enough room to fit a hockey stick. Last 5 years+ with regular maintenance
Automatic at this point but will be learning manual soon.
Will be used for : daily driving, long highway drives, maybe more . Just want a fun experience while driving opposed to the bore of my moms ford escape
I've never owned a car, have no idea what I'm doing but would love to learn and have something to work on and take care of.
Thanks for the help!
What I've been suggested so far are genesis 2.0 coupe, golf GTI, Mazda speed3.
I have a 2009 Malibu LT2 I got for about 8k from a dealership, mine is only the 4 cyl eco engine but it has leather, paddle shifters, heated seats, remote start, sunroof, XM, OnStar, etc etc
even though it lacks a bit in power if you paddle shift it there is some fun, it handles really well (although these firestone FR710 tires suck)
Check around you for 2008 or newer Malibu's, you can get a 6cyl model with paddle shifters and it will be a reliable car, fairly fuel efficient, good sized trunk, good sized back seat, and has decent power for a DD, and its domestic so most parts are quite cheap
