i recently bought a sport mod

no way i can race it anymore this year unless i travel quite a ways, so im just gonna tuck my boner in my waistline and wait impatiently

might build an engine, cuz fuck chevys, id rather run a 302 or 318(with wider options) than a 350 :santa:

ill tell you this right now, you don't have to like chevy, but you'd be a damn fool to use anything else in imca racing.

sure you can build a ford motor within the rules with more power, but it's going to cost you double easy.

and what happens when you have a easy to fix parts failure, you just cut your borrowing ability down by 98%

dont be a fool. spend the extra $ other places, especially on more tires, trust me these imca g60's are junk and you're going to want tires.

what car did you buy? how much details bitch details.

its nothing special, i couldn't tell you who built it, but it was built for a track owner in the area, well i should say it, and its twin brother were, he wrecked this one, sold it and it got re-stubbed

built side by side, etc, i have him as a resource if anything, but im legit just learning to drive a car like this, went from 4 cyl. FWD to 4 cyl RWD, and that itself took almost an entire year of learning

im 100% sure its not legal as it sits, as it has a 4 link, and running a 460 crate with a 4barrel

but unless i make tech, who's gonna stop me?

i picked it up for about 3 grand, which was the friends and family deal, if anything i can part it out and lose a little for the knowledge/experience

yeesh, that honestly sounds like a mess.... if your running with the sport mods you need to be on the 2 link man, is your race track that big of a shit hole that they dont even check?

460 crate??? i honestly am not even sure what your talking about

Sounds like someone got their hands on a smashed up dirt rod or a roller and threw some junkyard parts in it thinking they would be badass. then dumped it for cheap once they figured out sanctioned races actually have rules and tech.

Then again, what do I know. Maybe it's an outlaw car

"outlaw" cars still have rules lol

sounds like a hunk of shit to me, i personally feel its more important to have good equipment when youre starting than down the line.

its a sealed 350 - i honestly don't know much about them, its a WISSOTA thing i think

the tracks i plan on going to aren't IMCA sanctioned, but a fair number of IMCA guys show up, so i figured the rules must be pretty similar

we're allowed a 3 link, (actually i believe the NASCAR sanctioned track allows the "midwest" mods a 4 link)

but with a 350 we're required to run a 2 barrel carb

i know when the original owner ran the car, it was a big mod, but for whatever reason its been mostly converted, and no you don't really get tech'd unless you're hitting the scale, or people are complaining

ohhh you're talking about the GM 602 or 604. does it have aluminum heads or not, actually 2 barrel carb im assuming its the 602 iron head crate motor. well those are imca legal (as long as they have the imca seal bolts) so thats fine, and makes more sense, wissota probably runs them also

what is the front clip? thats the biggest deal really, getting the front end geometry correct. any idea what the car is a copy/is based off of, they are all based off something.
