The convertible is really nice actually. I don't like the way it looks (and don't know if that's your problem with it) but it's one of the nicest soft tops on a sub-100K convertible I've seen. Very quiet, completely weather proof, not that cold. We skipped the convertible mostly for aesthetic reasons when I got mine but practically it's not so bad.
And you can get he 3.0T on a 2012 coupe right? That shouldn't be that more than a 2011 4.2. If you really wanted the V8 the good version of that FSI is in the RS5 but you'd have to be willing to spend $40,000+ USD on a 2013 with close to 100,000 KM.
maybe, but theres none in my area. actually i dont like convertibles not just for aesthetic reasons; usually the body isnt as ridged, i would never drive with the top down, and im not a hair dresser.
also if anyone has any other options that you think wouldbe better, feel free to share them.
what i dont want:
econbox (civic, camry smart car ect)
anything rwd (even with winter tires my gto is really bad in the snow)
evo/sti (as cool as they are, i just dont actually want one)
