norm benning getting in the last chance qualifier is still one of the best highlights out of eldora truck racing. i dont even know who that greenfield is but i will never forget him getting out of his truck and crying pissing and moaning because norm wouldnt lay down and let him past even though greenfield done everything he could trying to wreck norm and even body slamming him into the wall. awesome race right there. all kinds of the big name crews came over with parts and even patched norms truck up for him so he could race in the feature.

Also to note - The Rico Abreu midget tossing contest has been postponed at the Eldora ballroom.

Listening to the replay on sirius it sounds like rico knocked everything down in the qualifying race lol. Kvapil probably not buying any rico shirts anytime soon

Why dirt in a heavy ass truck, with too much HP and not enough traction is fun. The entire last feature race was slide jobs.
Matter of fact, you can make "slide jobs" into a drinking game!

i listened to the entire qualifiers and feature race on sirius replay through the early morning hours on my drive to conesville ohio. sounded like a damn good race i feel bad for bobby pierce but hey thats the breaks of the game when you hit the wall. big grats to kyle larson and what a comeback for him and rico both.

I'd not be surprised if Rico continues to work his was up the NASCAR divisions.

this is his first full season with the truck series, racing for ThorSport Racing and they recently had a fire at the shop that gutted them. Something like 45% of the shop was lost.

the biggest challenge isnt going from dirt to pavement, its learning how to drive such a big car and huge difference in weight/hp ratio.


i feel like they rushed larson to cup, but w/e to late now.


be on the look out for all the former(graduated) and current Keith Kunz Motorsports drivers

including Tanner Thorson, Ryan Robinson another hot shoe out of northern california that started in outlaw karts, Spencer Bayston, And another california local young gun that grew up in my backyard Carson Macedo

and then an interesting pick, Holly Shelton also northern Ca from outlaw karts, this is her first time in Midgets, im not quite sure she has the talent, but if she does shes in the right equipment.

larsons biggest problem in cup is the fact that chip ganassis nascar operation isnt a top tier ride. larson didnt start making real solid headway until he got paired with chad johnston (crew chief) and the cars that johnston built finally started filtering their way into race weekends. with stewart haas racing switching to ford i really hope chip ganassi gets some kind of deal going with rick hendrick or something to help them out more. kyles abilities have always been way better than his cars thats why hes always fencing it.

im still puzzled why kyle larson declined to take over tony stewarts 14 next season but hopefully staying in the 42 works for him. if not maybe he can take over dale jr or jimmie johnsons ride in the next few years
