get a 99 jeep if your set on one

yea yea yea....I know all about the supposed bad castings on the newer Jeeps. Ever notice how theirs like a billion y2k Cherokees around? Dodge made the shit out of them in their last year and went with some Mexican (I think) casting company for the blocks.

Still....I have two y2k Cherokees parked outside right now. Both still run great (knock on wood) they also are not ran hard.

My brother owns the Forester and I'm considering buying it off of him. Friggin' I may end up keeping the Jeep and get the Subbie. Hmmmm.....

I totally dig (real) Jeep's but surprised no love for Subaru around here.

The unibody (classic) Jeep Cherokee is practically like being surrounded by a roll cage.

my friend had one, rolled it crawling once and it basically collapsed on him. havent been a huge fan ever since

it was a slow roll onto the passenger side, then onto the roof. all but the A pillar collapsed to about the bottom of the window frame. if anyone was sitting in the passenger rear side they wouldve been crushed..

i know how badass they can be but they personally scare me. lol.

Your buddies Jeep stock or larger tires and other heavy stuff added to suspension? Did he go heavier axles? Very well possible it's simply how it rolled. Yea, most rock crawler cherokees have external cages. I'm not saying you can roll them over but jumping, etc. you don't have to worry about the frame busting.

i believe it was on a 3 inch lift with 31's, stick axles but 1-ton steering components and stuff. his was a right-hand-drive too

it was probably the way he rolled over, the slow rollover just twisted the whole damn thing.

I've seen Subaru's get places most cars can't,

foresters and outbacks are kinda ugly to my eye though.
