i literally have never been interested in learning about learning, all i know is that the ones in my trucks work and that when im having an issue i call my diesel guy lol

In that case, buy an eBay kit with shit turbos, sell the shit turbos to the clueless scene kids in your area, then buy good turbos for your kit

Litterally the only things you wont have laying around are turbos (which you dont want from ebay), bov's, and intercooler. All which can be sourced cheap.

go snag a holset and 1st gen ram intercooler out of a junkyard for a couple hundred bucks. The only thing you would need to buy is a bov if you want to go that route. I would, for double protection ofc.

Just make sure you weld the hot piping inside and outside.

It would literally take you 10 mins to figure it out. Setting up turbo's is not hard at all. The biggest thing people struggle with is the fab. In which I know you can do...

idk, the only welding i know how to do is jb welding

This. And sometimes, tunes can be a nightmare.. But for an eBay kit, it's np..

I remember the old DSM took us like a week to throw together, and it was a fucking blast.

this is our list for the time being.

we essentially have 1 weekend to get it done





Engine:
- Change engine oil / filter
- Sixlitre tune up
- Replace air filter
- Remove smog pump, hoses and related?
- Remove A/C? Requires pulley and bracket from JY
- Get new belt after removing smog pump and/or A/C
- Electric fan?
- Remove A/C box to avoid tire running into it - attempt to keep heat for window defrost?
- 180* Thermostat?
- Check coolant
- Check hoses
- Cut off exhaust, add muffler?

Drivetrain:
- Trans cooler
- Change trans fluid and filter?
- Change tcase fluid
- Check double cardan and ujoints

Axles:
- Weld 8.8, new fluid. Do we swap it with a 9" now?
- Check front diff fluid
- Manual hubs for the front, who has some?
- Check front wheel bearings and seals
- Check brakes / adjust drums in rear
- Check ball joints while apart for wheel bearings
- Once over on the steering components

Interior:
- Remove carpet and unnecessary plastics to reduce weight
- Replace passenger window motor
- Gauges "work"?

Other:
- Tires!
- Cracked windshield?
- Tow points
- Look for factory roll bar?

Misc:
- Super Sweet Paintjob
- Replace grill if time allows
- Cheap HID / LED lights for night run?
