Expecially when you run the factory wheels/tires. We have one around here with those flares and stock everything else... its a laughable look

They are ffunny looking. With a standard tire. They defiantly need a wider tire with the flares, and dam does it look good when someone does it properly

They are just so damn tall...

With an aftermarket wheel and tire they don' stick out too far. They are wider than the ford and ram though.

Mine has the Z71 flaps. They work well. If you look really close at the rocker panel and bottom of the rear quarter panel GM used a painted plastic skin. It is much better than regular painted metal.

Lots of manufactures are going to this on the rockers now. Chevy started it quite a few years ago now.

My 08 GMC had them on it.

I know dodge has been doing it for a couple years as well. Try not to get close enough to ford trucks to know if they have it or not :P

Buys fender flares to protect fenders
Switches to silly wheels and tires that stick out past the fender
Throws rocks all down the side of the truck instead

Go in the dealership
They have plain ones, chrome bottom ones, ones that say 4x4 / z71 / Chevy / Denali / shiny black bottom ones etc.. pick the ones you like. I got the moulded plastic ones for mine, I like the way they look.

Carpet sleds, cut them to size.

Buddy of mine runs them on his rally wagon. Not the nicest looking thing, but very functional.
