Quebec, Canada

First "big" sled for me, I did ride skandic 800, vk, pro rmk600 in snow already and I have no trouble carving and side hilling.

I don't know really about snow but certainly nothing for a 163" haha and I don't want to swear at a 144" track :p

I will be riding 35%trail/65% offtrail-mountain. I don't want to make climbing mountain movies etc, I just want to play around in power lines hills and running around trees, getting stuck and laught with friends hehe.

switchback is not an option for me

I'm a Newfie myself so I kinda know what snow you guys get, I would recommend a 163 just to be safe but don't even bother with a 144 waste f time in my opinion.. Yamaha has really good sleds now too check one of them out

I've used a viper mtx and I can honestly say it's an amazing sled, and 4 stroke so no mixing gas

I hear ya but nah, I feel (I could be wrong) that a 163" would be too long for nothing. I do not plan for high steep mofo hills and we don't have the 6' snowstorms. I would like to be able to carv between trees and when I get stuck, I don't want to call a crane to get me out of a 10' deep hole hahaha

Also yeah I know that yamaha does great sleds but I'm not really into 4-strokes engine for my toys. I fear that I need to roll it some times to get out of some situations and I don't want oil leaking everywhere or destroy internals because of a bad lubrication. Its also the weight concern.

Also, the new sleds do have electronic injections with a oil injection which mean it's not needed to mix gaz/oil anymore. Its a side tank that you fill with mixing oil.

This bring me another question:

One of my friend has a '10 Pro rmk 800 and he is using a gaz mixed with oil ( around 1:133 mix(300ml in 40l)) so it runs more like 1,3:40 instead of the 1:40. He says it does not burn or foul plugs and its not alot more fumes out the exhaust. Is it a positive thing to do to keep the engine even more lubricated preventing heat dmg ?

Automatic oil injection has been around since the 70's and many people dislike it. If the injection pump fails you seize the engine up and you have no way of knowing when it fails. I've disabled every IP i've ever owned and gone back to premix.

133:1 is ridiculously light on oil. Some synthetic oils will lube well up to 100:1. He is also running a richer fuel mixture by doing that. Oiling largely depends on jetting or injection rate. big changes in one requires a change in the other.

I know 133:1 is ridic low, but it's premix. His injectors are pushing 40:1 rate + 133:1 rate(from premix) = 40:1,3 final rate. which is a little richer than the prescripted 40:1 rate for his model.

Also 3 years warranty on these so nn worrying about a oil injection fail. Once 2,5 y/o, beat it like a demon, rebuild and sale and buy a new one with new warranty.

thats my opinion tho.

Iso more inputs about the engine reliability. cleanfire 800 ho.

I misunderstood you. More oil is not a bad thing so long as your fueling is adjusted for it. The little he is adding is decent insurance.

Yeah, I was wondering if it changes anything but the lubrication of the bottom. I might do it on mine too, just for "over lubricating" but I wonder if plug will foul :( Anyone know if it can create deposits in the "vilbrequin zone" or under the counterweights of it ?

There is also a break in mode that last 5-6hours/150 miles that send a richer mix to break in the engine.

Anyway 20$ plugs are better than a 2500$ rebuild hehe ( warranty but it takes time and winter's not so long...

So really no one has a 2014-2015 RUSH Or switchback ?? They have this cleanfire 800 engine !! :p

Dont use that automatic oil shit lol
Will ruin your engine, Have enough trust in yourself to mix your own gas

Haha but but but... If I pay 16k$ for a sled, I expect everything in it to work haha !! Anyway if pump ever fail, it's 3 years warranty so I just drop it at the dealer, take a demo back home and keeps on sleeding until mine is repaired. :p

And seriously, I had some 2-strokes dirtbikes and never had any problem mixing my own gaz. You just need basic math to calculate the oil needed but I always used a 20L. gaz bottle so the calcul was even easier xD
