lmao I don't think so, I joke about this quite often

FNG guide to sucking dick at jsp motorsports:

Step 1: Post up asking for advice on ridiculous car (supra, high mileage bmw, etc)
Step 2: At the same time, post up asking the jsp expertz for insurance quotes on X car(s).
Step 3: Disregard any advice given, except advice you want to hear (IE: "Go for it bro, sick car it's totally gonna be legit, pussy is literally going to throw itself at tyou" "fast and furious is life" etc)
Step 4: Buy POS car and post picture.
Step 5: A week later post up asking why the fuck your high mileage salvage title <EnterCarHere> has problems
Step 6: Disclose no details about the issue (ie: where it is coming from)
Step 7: Start raging at jsp motorsports OG's because they are calling you a complete fucktard at this point
Step 8: Play it off like you aren't a fucktard OR Never post in subforum again

Paint "Pope Mobile" on the side and go park outside of the local Catholic school.

I find forum advice HUGELY important when buying a car.

Not a "general car discussion forum" information.

But specific forum about the car brand and model I'm interested in purchasing.

For example: Prior to purchasing my most recent car, a B8.5 Audi S5, I went to two or 3 different audi forums, in the B8 A5/S5/RS5 forum section.

Once there, I asked about the most common issues with the car, what are some of the MUST HAVE options offered by the manufacturer, average maintenance and fuel cost yearly and so on.

This was very important. It help me make smart decisions on the time of purchase, for example: Opting for the Sports Differential was a MUST DO. Both for a performance standpoint and RESALE VALUE later on. (Just a small example)

So while going to the generic car forum and asking for random opinions might not always be helpful, going specific on your research can really make a difference.
