New belt every 3k 0___0

Even if you drive it hard I would think you should not be replacing belts that often...

Imo just pull the head yourself and check it out. If the gasket shows no obvious signs of damage then you'll want to bring the head/block in to get pressure checked

no lol i dont change the belt every 3k, i do oil every 3k and belt as soon as i see signs of wear, ive put 15k HARD miles on it in a year and ive only had to change the belt once (well twice because i didnt do it right the first time LOL)

well good news and bad news men of jsp

engine passed the pressure test, it's the head gasket...

but if i do the head gasket its been recommended i just pull the motor and get it fully rebuilt...

so theres 2K (since i dont have the means or space to pull the motor myself, therefore getting slammed with 800$ in labor)

if i go that route. or just drive it until i blow it and save up for a bigger daily driver tundra, then just build it OHV (which im planning to do eventually)...

Just pull out the head, clean and put a new head gasket?

This is like a 2-3 hours job. You could even use 8-10 hours if you have time and wants to go slow lel.

If you are not sure about timing and other stuff, just open ytube and watch 2-3 videos about it?

If you let your blown head gasket in place and keep on running it, you will either ruin your coolant system or even get coolant in block and destroy bearings/crank/rods/cylinders/pitons/rings/sparks/etc.

I don't know much about this engine but normaly gasket should be wut, 35$ ?? and then you want new head studs, so another 55$ ??

i have to quote your damn replies just to see them... but if the damage has been done to the internals... a 35$ gasket isnt shit.

How much oil is in the coolant? Start calling junk yards for another engine but if not a lot of oil, you can drive it for a bit. It's dying but not dead yet.

well ive put 15k miles on it since ive had it and never checked the coolant, so im not sure how long its been mixing... but the coolant looks like mud basically...

That isn't the important part. The cooling system can be thoroughly flushed. The real question is what does the oil look like? If there is no coolant in the oil (it will look like chocolate milk) then the internals are perfectly fine. The cooling system should be 15-20psi and the oil galley should be 20-50psi. It is very likely you had high pressure oil passing to the low pressure cooling side and not the other way around. Pull the dipstick and check it out. If it looks good pull the head and have it milled just enough to get it flat (very important step!) and throw it back together with a new gasket and head bolts.

oil was changed about 500-ish miles ago and the shop didnt say anything about coolant in the oil (theyre pretty good about catching that stuff) and i looked today and didnt see any coolant in the oil
