I don't think heavy is the issue. He said huge/massive. It's a longitudinal V8 car compared to a horizontal 4. The nose will feel a mile long. The weight distribution is 53/47...
That's what I meant. Such a completely different driving experience than a sport compact and the reason I think he sounded unfavourable toward the Mustang in comparison to the compacts he drove.

However regarding you cross-shopping comment, yes. I want to drive every car that I have always thought was nice and make a decision. Is that not a good idea?
I am bias towards 4 cylinder engines though, I like them a lot.
Nothing wrong with I just find it strange. To me it would be like cross shopping a Ford Escape, RAV4 and a Chevy Suburban. Like there's nothing wrong with it, but from the Evo and STI it sounds like you're looking at Sport Compacts. And then the prefer I4 comment, which
really makes me thinking you're looking at Sport Compacts. I think your dislike of the Mustang feeling too big comes from cross shopping cars of the type you really like with a car that really is nothing like those cars.
If your buying a car driving cars you like/think you will like is a good idea, I just think with the information you gave me that it would be rather predictable you thought the Mustang was too big in the front.
