Kind of this, except you want to make sure that you have a DC meter.. If you don't, you can check continuity of the circuit by doing the same thing, except instead of turning it on to test voltage, turn it on to test OHMS "the omega symbol on the meter". If it makes a sound, you have good continuity.. If it doesn't, your ground is probably fucked somewhere... Or your harness. When you do this, disconnect your battery.
Lol you electricians and your expensive multimeters. Most of us peasants have cheapo meters that don't have smart functions like auto continuity check.
Clean the socket contacts, bend the wires om the bulb out a little wider, and see what you've got. If that doesn't work start checking voltage and resistance to ground.
