really?

you are a fucking idiot.

I agree with this opinion. unfortunately you bought a Chevy truck after the company had already gone to shit.

still though, take it (toe) to a professional who gives free quotes. Maybe look around online for reviews and BBB ratings. Some of those large national chain locations (transmission/quick lube) are crooked as hell.....imo.

Im no gm tranny expert by any means but it could be a couple things. Usually when the valve body goes it's not sudden. same with bands.

The fact you have reverse and nothing forward rules out any shafts snapping. This is a complete linkage controlled trans? If so, I would start investigating there.

LOL no, im not bringing it to a shop.... i can do it myself

tranny is out of the truck and were pulling it apart right now, pictures to fallow.

from what a few people have said, there is a shaft off the planetarys that is inner splined and they break.

rebuilt kit on order from summit, should be here tomorrow, which is the nice thing about them being in sparks, i typically get stuff in 1-2 days

*Rolls eyes*

the 60e has steadily improved since it was the 700r4 in the 80's. His truck should actually have a 4L65e. It's like a mildy beefed up 4l60e.

KOJ can rebuild it himself. He was just asking for advice from people with first hand 60e experience.

There are no less than 6 things that could cause this. You are on the right path. Taking it apart is the only way to tell. Rebuild it with good parts, put a vette servo on it, and keep on truckin. If you replace the water pump, plugs, and alternator you will be good to go for another 200k.
