i have my work truck and the space next to it was open. i let the cables sit and cranked it. same result. since its warm outside i got to crawling around underneath and stuff and smelled what i could and notices some fresh juice that might not be melted snow. seems i have a new oil leak. if you throw out the who very cold weather thing, do these sound like the symptoms of a car with no oil in it?
Well, an oil leak would signify there is oil in it, but its leaking.. Not to be a smart ass.. Check the dip stick, is there oil on it? If not, add a quart, and check it again. If still none, pop the drain plug and do an oil change. Check the cylinders by popping out the spark plugs and check for oil residue on the plugs, if there is oil "not carbon, actual oil" it could signify that you have busted rings. Busted rings means you need a rebuild. Easiest way to determine this is test the cylinders compression. The PSI should be around 150-170 per cylinder, if you read something like 150, 150, 70, 148, 160, 150 than you can do something called a wet test, just drip a LITTLE oil in where the plug goes, than do the test again. If it raises the compression, than your rings are bad. If it doesn't, it could be the cylinder wall.
Do that than come back. Also, be a fucking man and run your finger in the liquid and taste and smell it. is it sweet? is it oily? Is it both?
