Put fluid in, still won't reverse. Shifting through the gears is no problem and never was. It just won't back out of the current spot it's in

gears could be shredded, take it to a tranny shop, have them try to reverse it, and they will most likely be able to tell you whats wrong

people who work on trannys are like car whisperers, they can basically talk to your transmission, like old indians and dirt roads ya kno m8

also, it still could be shifter linkage

when you put it in reverse, do you hear and clunks are bangs? when you gas it in reverse what happens, just revs up? any clunks or banging?

Final shot before you take it into a shop.. disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reset the computer, than see if that solves anything.

I have a feeling I know exactly what the issue is though... Try to roll it back and drive it down the road if you can, if the car doesnt shift into 2nd, its sun gear is fucked.. Common problem, but its a reason for a rebuild sadly.

It could be the shift linkage, it might just be ironic that there was no fluid lol... Its probably either the sunshell or the shift linkage.. Either way, take it to the shop so they can figure it out, its out of your hands now.

get under the car and look where the transmission is, look for a steel cable with rubber wrapping, have your girlfriend move the shifter thru all the gears and see if you can find it and watch it actually move, do not do this with the car running.

you want to be sure that when she puts it in reverse, you watch the cable shift the lever into reverse
