Theres no way they'd bring out a new camaro without a V8 lol.
i couldnt imagine it either, but there was talk for a long time that the new vette was going to be a v6, also the ford GT is a v6 now, so its hard to say without absolute certainty.

The V8 fits. They used the turbo 6 in the Caddy to try to differentiate it from the incoming Camaro, and align it with it's German counterparts a bit better. Stock for stock the V6 should perform just as well as the V8 and the power curves should be similar. The Camaro will have the V8 which I believe is actually a bit lighter than the V6. If you nix all the options the ATS has that the Camaro won't you are looking at a Camaro curb weight of around 3500lbs. It may be possible to get one even lighter if they offer a base V8 with no doo-dads or creature comforts. That is something they have gotten away from that I miss. There should be a stripper option for those that want one. Basic electronics and manual windows etc. It's been 15 years since that was done though. Now we are forced to take all of the options and pay MORE for carbon fiber bits to reduce weight.
im just curious if theres any room for upgrades with their 3.6TT, then again your average caddy driver has no interest in performance upgrades i guess. When the camaro is launched i doubt they will offer the bare minimum version, i think too many people are now scared to buy something without power windows and and the creature comforts in their other cars. Plus chevy wants put their MyLink in their vehicles now, it would be wierd to have MyLink and manual windows i think. But thats their marketing, give you creature comforts, make it heavy as shit, then throw carbon fiber bits on it to make it slightly lighter. If they had a basic options version, the pricing would have to be too close to the v6 version, and then the v6 version would see any sales, only way is if they do away with the v6 version completely, which i have no problem with anyways.
