Improper torque sequence/setting and no threadlocker. You are lucky the clutch didn't come loose at high rpm. It easily could have cut your feet off.

For a daily, my 15+ year old tranny that took a year of hard abuse for a honda (250+awhp), is still working perfectly fine.

y u mad tho

You said you can't imagine paying $1500. Once you step out of the itty bitty engine club a manual trans will run over $1k easy. Look up T56 prices.

On a car that I drive every day? No, I cant imagine paying that. Period. Doesnt matter what car. Even if it was a newer car, I'd be smart enough to buy new to get a warranty to NOT have to pay the 1500.

You're comparing a DD to a "racecar" ahaha.

We don't all live where it snows or where DD's rust. Stay small my friend. Powertrain warranties usually run out by 100k miles and odds are the trans won't need to be refreshed until well after that unless you drive like an idiot.

What do you think it costs to rebuild your average automatic in a half ton pickup truck? $1200-$2000. Anyway this is off subject quite a bit.

OP you should be on the phone with the shop that installed it right now.

He should have been on the phone with that shop right after it happened. Seriously if you just paid to put a clutch in and your transmission stops working that should be your first step.

I'm at the shop right now. They're giving me the run around because they're "busy"

They have to "inspect" it and determine what the "problem" was.

Oh you haven't even heard the best part.
When I was getting my car towed, it came off the tow and cracked my bumper.

I'm just having the best day of my life.
Getting the bumper replaced for free, but I am not hearing good things about the place. Color won't probably match.

Kwik Kar better not screw me over with a problem that is most likely there fault
