I don't see how it's laziness if the person diagnosing it doesn't know that could be a cause of the problem. If it's gas and boosted there are only a few things it can be.

My guess would have been the octane but I assume these guys are smart enough to run the right octanes on the right maps.

Its running the right gas for the tune. My first thought was plugs but I didn't think just plugs would fuck it up that badly with just the tuner. I've already told him to go get new plugs but I figured I'd see if anyone had any other ideas.

Is it a 91 or 93 map?

it's because he was in a car that is semi "okay" because it has a turbo and he was inside of it, so he took video and posted on here of semi "okay" car fucking up

something else you may look at is what kind of plugs are you running? if he has some expensive special +4 plugs or some shit then try changing them with basic ngk plugs or something. those expensive plugs burn hotter and if you are putting a tune on it then it may be causing detonation.
