Spend money on the tools, not the box.

This.

Our best master hybrid tech (and foreman) has a small craftsman box.

Unless I was bringing home 100k a year as a mechanic I couldn't justify the cost of a box that costs thousands.

It's like having a gold toilet with a heated seat..yeah it's cool to look at and it makes you feel special, but you're still just putting shit in it..

Spend the money on the tools.

Hell I nearly make 100k and I still use a harbor freight box. With just the 44" with the side cabinet. Although I think I may get the biggest one they have just so it's a deeper box. I've had it for 2 years now and have had zero problems with it.

Yeah it's like 1200 or so for a 72" box. I think it's only like 22" deep so it's a little thinner than snap on but for like 1/8th the price

if your just starting id recommend looking at harbor freight (Ik, its taboo practically) but some of the us general stuff is good quality, i picked mine up because the glides were nicer then the 500$ craftsman box that was a comparable size, and i paid 150$ for this box.

BUT if your one of those guys that buy snapon bc of the brand name and just HAVE TO HAVE IT... thats a good price if the stuffs in good shape.\\

but also if your going into a technical program alot of tech schools partner with matco, mac and snapon and give student discounts, so check into that. ( i know i was getting 50% off certain tools/categories)
