Congrats!  Always nice when you're doing a DIY project if you can get away with it being light on the wallet.  :)

thanks. that pretty much sums up this entire car :) owned it for almost 5 years now, many upgrades and replaced parts and still only around 5,000$ total invested (that includes the car)

377,000 miles on the motor and going strong

I once felt the same way, but when you don't have a car and a running diesel pops up for 1,000$.... perspectives can change fast.

As much as I love this idea, I think beetle purists would be furious to see me use such a rare spoiler in that manner

Gotta agree with both... But at least you like it and have done something to make it less feminine.
I can't say much though, I drive a soccer mom van

Interested in some more angles though. Got more updated pics?

In the end I've come to realize it's still a beetle, and you can only do so much to change that. But that's one thing that makes it interesting, no one really modifies these things. So it normally gets noticed and compliments on doing something out of the norm. That and having an open pipe TDI helps  ofc not everyone likes it, but that's fine because I enjoy the art of trolling.

And I have some other pics I'll upload when I get home, but most of the quick shots outside the shop are meh. Also I don't like the wheels I'm using so I'm looking for some different ones asap.
