I know nothing about cars. Was looking for some advice on why my truck stales when I put it into gear. Starts ok. But, soon as I put in gear, it stales. Unless I leave it running for about 30 minutes. Usually only happens when it's like 20 degrees or less, which is often here in PA lol. I drive a 95 Nissan Pathfinder.

Is there an additive or something that I can use to prevent this from happening?

Thanks guys.

do a transmission flush and fill and change the transmission filter.

After a fast google for you, it seems this can be caused by just about anything.. Bad maf sensor, vaccume leak . Just to name a few.

IMO get a shop or someone experienced to give it a once over, or possibly look into getting a new vehicle. It is pretty old. And they Arent work a lot to begin with ,dumping large amounts of $$ night not be a good idea.
