blame the challenger people that paid 100k+ for challengers just because of the hellcat.

These will be worse. They are limiting production to 1,200 cars if i remember correctly.

And at the bottom of the second link they comment on a hellcat 300, Durango, and a jeep?

Like wtf

Durango is at the end of its life. they are dropping it from their lineup, the 300 will not get a hellcat motor and they piss and moan about putting a v8 into a jeep let lone a supercharged v8

Challenger and Charger were the only two cars that were going to get the 6.2L

Thats what info has been released to the public anyways.

Cool concept none the less but with a limited production run, these will be more expensive than the challengers which are to go into mass production during 2016

The fact that these cars out preform the srt's viper is kind of shocking to me. That is supposed to be their flagship badass car and its been beaten by a 4dr sedan lol... That's either going to be the last knife in the viper or a good reason to do something to bring it back up to par.

"Only close competiton would be the M5 BMW but not the regular one with the 552 hp, but the 30th anniversary edition that haves 592 hp but that one should not count because it is going to be a special edition."

That quote haves good grammar

Also I like how you can't count a special edition vs a hellcat which is a special edition

There's a reason they aren't popular. Look at it's close competition like the vettes and gt500s. They out perform or perform closely for a fraction of the cost.

If they could make the viper perform better than it does now with a power/handeling increase as well as an interior / creature comfort update and keep the price the same they would sell more.

I've driven the latest gen vipers as I looked at buying one after SRT did their redo but they still have a long way to go. They still ride bad, the cabin noise is like a strait pipe chevy and the performance for a 130k car is lacking in my opinion. The viper has come a long long way but it still has some road to go before i buy one.

i doubt they'll do anymore with it since they have already decimated it into nothingness.

but it is chrysler so i'm sure they are dumb enough to keep dumping money into a car that historically has been a failboat.

Who knows. Theres been rumors that this is the last generation but its up in the air in my opinion. If the hellcats take over theres no reason to have it. Start from scratch in my opinion.

holy shit i'd love to see them actually say fuck the viper and actually try to make a real car in the price range.

i mean they clearly have designers and engineers capable of great cars but holy fuck do they squander them trying to polish that turd of a car.

They'll never be able to compete with the market.. These hellcats are garbage, plain and simple.. it's almost like dodges r&d are ignoring the public... they need to target a less "sophisticated" audience, and they can do that with a new srt4... The tier of car they're trying to compete in just doesnt..

When you hear ford or chevy come up in a conversation. I highly doubt caviler and focus come popping into your mind. They already have an "srt4" with the dart. It just doesn't utilize SRT's badges. They have low trim darts and high trim darts with inline turbocharged 4 cylinders. Just like the neon. And it's a fucking turd, just like the neon lol. with 35 lbs of boost and stupid amounts of fuel, it too can be a dyno queen. Just like the neon.

Pony cars and trucks are the staple to the big 3. Everybody wants a truck or a v8 muscle car. The only reason people buy the other shit is because its not practical or affordable for them to buy otherwise.
