This is the challenger i presume? If you don't want to get shit on at the invitational, TX2K, and the like you need to ditch the blower and fab some twin 91mm turbos up. A blower car is going to make waaaaay too much heat in a mile run. You won't make it past the true street cars with that power level either.  1000whp barely gets you in the door these days.

I've thought about it. I had all of the parts on hand to convert back to a blower setup on race gas. Thats why the motor is where it is now. There is still a lot of time before everything gets ripped apart.

I'd just really hate to sell the blower at this point but who knows where it'll end up in 6 months. twin 91's on a 572 would put me well over my goals of a 1200-1250bhp car. Then again I'd also be starting from pretty much a bare block as well.

14-71 and spray a shit load of methanol in the inlet pre-rotor on the blower. If you are going to do it do it big.

That kinda sets me back to where the motor was on alcohol. The 1471 I have is good yet. Only has about 13 passes on it. The rotating assembly is fried for the alcohol setup though.

If i downsized the cam to around an 800 lift and dropped the compression I could be in the 1800-1900 range and be more reliable. Still no idea on how many passes I could get out of a rotating assembly though. we had 9 passes in the truck and it was ready for a rebuild. That was also at 2400hp and much higher compression with a pretty steep cam. If i could get the alcohol motor to last a year I'd be happy with that. Between the few mile events we have and the couple SCLX events we have that run the 1/4 id probably be looking at 15 mile passes and 20ish 1/4's

Or do a fuel 1471 build. Not sure where that would land me number wise but would be more reliable as well. A 14-71 is a whole lot of blower lol...

All food for thought. I have a couple more months before I even think about dropping the motor in the car so I have time to figure it out.

The heat buildup of a mile run is what is going to kill you. That is why turbos with air to water intercoolers and race gas + meth injection or E-85 rule the roost. Blowers make the power, but they have far worse heatsoak and higher IATs.

That's why I liked the idea of a procharger. I just don't think I want to do a front mount gear driven blower. That just makes for a lot more work to make everything fit.

The 1471 on either fuel or alcohol would be plenty for power. At that point that would be the least of my worries. But as you said, Do I just bite the bullet now and build a turbo setup or run with a blower and rebuild more often.
