That simply isn't true. Your personal experience isn't indicative of the world's. People usually tend to exaggerate as well. If you were to believe anecdotal evidence, every company would make only lemons. And I don't think car companies exclusively run lemonade stands.
You can't say a cars not reliable because it breaks if people don't take care of it. If you take care of your car properly, it won't break down. It shouldn't matter if you can abuse a car and have it not break, that's not reliability. People also tend to attack the more expensive to fix cars are less reliable when they really aren't.
and like i said most people do not maintain their vehicles like their suppose to, in particular of the german brands. VW/Audi/BMW/MB all require higher maintenance than the lexus. and from what ive noticed about audi is that they are pretty damn unreliable because they always have something wrong with them.
Heres one reference towards audis reliability compared to lexus
https://autos.yahoo.com/news/consumer-reports--2014-car-reliability-survey-finds-japan-on-top-164529371.html and in recent years this seems to be damn true. BMW's recent change (last 9 years of turbos) have completely fucked up its reliability, don't believe me? check the forums... MB is the only damn german company that has a problem with keeping all its fluids in place of the damn motor? don't believe me? yo obviously hvnt owned/worked on a MB recently to notice how it spills everywhere (esp under). if were takling pre-turbo motors for BMW, they are the most reliable out of the other brands. if were talking the newest of the "luxury" brands it's lexus.
