Yeah that is probably the route I will be going. I'll still leave the add out. If someone is willing to buy it than shit why not.

I liked my previous car but would have been better off selling it. Put it for sell 2 summers ago, a few interested but no serious buyer. This summer put it up again at the price I was comfortable selling it for and someone bought it in sept. Took a while and I enjoyed my car while I had it but turned out great for me.

I don't even see $1000. Maybe $500-750. Low miles (relative) make it worth more than the $300 a scrapyard with give you but it sounds like it needs a lot of work, and it seems fairly beat up (though not bad for a '96 Audi).

E: I'd expect most offers to come in between 300 and 500. Under $500 if it croaks/doesn't resell at least you're not taking a very big loss.
