98 camrys sell around here for 1-1500 with mid-upper 100k.
Corollas about the same. How they got 3k idk.

I forgot most of you live in the rust belt or farther north. It's not uncommon around here for a camry with 150k on it to look just like a camry with 100k or 75k. The only reason for further depreciation is mechanical wear with mileage.

Their beaters are beaters.


1 important thing here is AC. If it doesn't smoke or leak and the AC blows cold it's worth $2k+ automatically.

the problem is the insurance dont give a shit what private parties sell the cars for. all they look at is the kbb or similar value of it and thats what they will offer you.

KBB says my car is worth 2000 in perfect condition and Farmer's valued it at 3100. I was also told by Farmer's that it's a third party company that determines the value of the car based on similar cars being sold around my area so its not a bias opinion. I don't know if other insurance companies do the same thing but that's their process.
