There is no humor...

Onstar is not an option and is not worth considering.

Any reasons why? It seems like a popular option with good reviews but I found a lot of people on Radom forums that had viper but after owning compustar, wouldn't go back to viper.

Because Viper is the same as most other companies (Python, Clifford, Avital, etc)

Imo, Crimestopper is my go to. Cheap, reliable, lifetime warranty, lots of remote start packages to choose from depending on features/budget.

Wait, wait, wait...

The "ultimate drivers car" you bought is an automatic?!?

On a related note, Viper has the quality and support I would want if I were to buy one.

iDatalink remote starter, if you want to use OEM key fob. (Press lock three times, car starts. Press and hold lock, car turns off)

Then for extra range, Compustar. There's units now that have a 1 mile range, (~5000 feet)

You'd also have the possibility of subscribing to Drone Mobile with Compustar.
At which point your range would pretty much be only limited to where your phone has service.

Yes I did, i don't take offense to my decision, so trying to insult me is just going to backlash.

I like the fob for the viper, there's one that's sleek and looks durable.

I'll check out the idatalink, it would be nice not to add another fob to my pocket.

$1,100

I paid $27,995 for a limited at, which was about $2,000 off of list price. I was pretty happy with that price, never stepped foot at the dealership, and had it delivered to my house for free.

ive installed AVITAL remote start/keyless entry systems in friends cars and they never had an issue.

furthest ive tested it was about 150-175ft away (from my workbench at work to the parking lot)
